What is Social Media?
Social Media is websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to use platforms such as Twitter and Facebook.
According to statistics, 2.46 BILLION people use social media, with Facebook being the most popular social network.
The internet is like a second world, and with figures like that, you can see the opportunity, possibility and the freedom that comes with using it. For enterprises, Social media gives them a new window of business, to display a positive and updated social media presence, but also to show potential clients strong brand awareness to separate themselves from competitors and rivals, Just like you would in the high street!
Why should I use social media?
Using platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to promote and display your business is key. Social media is like a second home to most people, and sustaining accounts and websites can be extremely important in making sure you get visitors online.
How regularly do I need to update my social media?
Exactly. Business online is just the same. Think of a social platform (Twitter,Facebook etc) as an online shop, you want to keep it exciting, relevant and informative.
Updating and sustaining a positive brand online is highly important in generating sales or potential new clients, as well as keeping clients coming back for more.
According to Ambassador, 71% of customers who had a good social media service experience with a brand are likely to recommend it to others, This demonstrates the importance of having good communication online, making it easier for clients to respond, contact and share information regarding the business.

Will I attract more clients?
There are millions of potential clients online, that don’t know about you! Getting your business online opens up a whole new world of potential. Anyone from anywhere can view your products/services which takes your business global, but through targeted marketing you can keep it local, which will result in massively building up the local area’s awareness of you, or any area/ you target!
When advertising through print marketing, you have very little control on who will see your advertisement, you can’t control the age, gender, occupation or any specific group you want to market to. However on social media, you can set up advertising campaigns that are suitable and personalised to you, and who you want to promote yourself to. For Example, if you were a golf club hosting a ‘ladies event’, you can promote this to a certain group, so you can aim a post or piece of content to social media users that are ladies between 25-60. This is very successful in successful marketing and actually making a sale to a new client while keeping costs much lower!
How effectively can I communicate online?
It can be as simple as one tweet back, a comment or a message back that can instantly grow brand loyalty, or push a client to invest in you. Using platforms and chat features on websites, you can allow customers to send over a query or question whatever time of day, whether you’re open or not, and makes it very easy to communicate between the buyer and seller, which is obviously essential. Using social media effectively unlocks the ability to respond and react to problems immediately and ensure you have excellent customer service at all times.
For example, lets pretend you are a business that only opens on weekdays, and its 7:00PM on a Friday evening, if somebody wanted to book or enquire about a booking, without social media they would have no access until the next Monday morning, of which they may be busy or lost interest. However by using social media you allow easier communication, and possible booking features online, to be building and growing a business even outside of business hours.
How useful is sharing information online?
Your business websites and social media platforms is your hub for everything, and should be a go-to place for all visitors and clients to be able to access the latest information, events and promotions within the business. Updating a social media platform is a very productive as it allows you to keep followers up to date, but also to raise awareness of new events, products or key aspects of the business you want to promote.
You can also post changes within the business, such as ‘The mens midweek championships is cancelled this afternoon due to flooding on the course’ to keep people up to date from home, and on the go, without needing to visit the business.
When should I focus one my Social Media?
Now, don’t miss out on potential business! Your competition is getting social, so should you! 91% of brands are on social media, so by not updating and using social media and digital marketing, you are missing out on huge amounts of potential to grow and sustain loyal clients.
By nurturing your social media accounts you can expect results such as a large increase in brand awareness, sales, enquiries, reviews and so much more.
